SEM Awards: Sage Publishing Young Engineer Lecture, D.J. DeMichele Scholarship

Zhu Mao received his B.S. from Tsinghua University in 2002, his M.S. and Ph.D. in 2008 and 2012 respectively from the University of California San Diego. Currently, he is on the faculty of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and before that, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His research interests include dynamics and vibration, structural health monitoring and prognosis, data analytics and uncertainty quantification. Dr. Mao has published over 100 papers on top tier journals and conference proceedings. He served as the Chair (2019-2022) of the Technical Division of Model Validation and Uncertainty Quantification at the Society for Experimental Mechanics, and is currently on the editorial board of Experimental Techniques. He is elected on the Advisory Board of the International Modal Analysis Conference since 2020. His involvement with IMAC starts in 2011, and he is the winner of D. J. DeMichele Scholarship Award that year. Dr. Mao is the recipient of 2018 AFOSR Young Investigator Program award, and the SEM SAGE Publishing Young Engineer Lecture Award in 2019.
