Mission and Issues

The mission of the IAB is to provide oversight in the review and selection of manuscripts for publication in Experimental Mechanics (EM). The IAB also monitors and provides advice to our publishing partner in the publication of EM. As part of the oversight function, the IAB provides advice to the EM Papers Review Committee and the Editorial Council. The membership of the IAB reflects the global character of the research findings that are published in EM.

Currently there are two primary issues that concern the IAB, which include:

  • Maintaining and improving the quality of the manuscripts published in EM and enhancing the presentation of the printed papers.

  • Recognizing that the information to be published in EM is perishable. This fact implies a marked reduction in the time from submission of the manuscript to publication in either a printed or electronic format.
