October 27-29, 2008

Celebrating the 60th Birthday of Holography

The 2008 Fall Meeting of SEM will be dedicated to celebrating the 60th Birthday of Holography.  This international event will feature a series of invited papers as well as contributed papers and posters organized into a single session so that participants can get a full benefit form the presentations without running from session to session.

Holography was invented by Dr. Dennis Gabor in 1948 for which he was awarded Nobel Prize.  Over the years, holography has been advanced to a stage where it can facilitate developments in a number of emerging technologies.  Today holography is capable to address pertinent issues relating to design, analysis, fabrication, testing, optimization, applications, and education in the areas of current interest, especially as these issues relate to experimental mechanics.
